In a bizarre crossover event that defies usual forecasts, the game developer has unveiled an digital partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual Thanksgiving event continues from November 25 through December 22, including no-cost additional story content for Shadows players.

Peculiar Mission Disclosed

According to the authorized statement, "A strange confrontation draws heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh quest, where rumors of forbidden practices and monstrous changes resonate through the shadows." The plot features a "oddly attired woman named Ada" who charges the pair with journeying into the Gemstone Grotto—a important location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her ally from a clandestine group.

The mission centers on "peculiar tests and a monstrous foe" and is available to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.

Familiar Places and Transformations

The teaser features the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was formerly where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The teaser concludes with a dramatic moment showing a character, presumably the prisoner, morphing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.

Unique Prizes and Extra Content

Players who finish the mission will obtain an exclusive katana together with several items secreted throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also includes in-store Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:

• Titan-inspired outfit for Yasuke
• Mikasa costume for Naoe
• Unique weapons
• Survey Corps mount

Third Free Story Addition

This release also introduces the game's latest complimentary story addition, titled "A Puzzlement." This playful mission teams Naoe and Yasuke as they swap signature skills: Naoe debuts a theatrical version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-lethal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "The Enigma" also includes a original environmental puzzle that may finally clarify some unanswered questions from the main storyline.

The series formerly included a 2020 crossover story linking Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
